hi does anyone use a Givi xs306 or xs308 on their GS..if so what are the pro's and cons please....

I've got an xs308. It was a Christmas present from the wife so it's not been used in anger yet.

Pros:
Seems to be well made, comes with a rain cover
Very easy to put on and take off the fitting ring.
Sits clear of the tank so won't damage paint, seems to be stable.
Doesn't interfere with controls on full lock.

Cons.
The fitting ring is made of black plastic and looks ugly. I have an 09 GS - the bolts that hold the filler assembly are under the filler cap. To fit the ring you have to remove the whole filler assembly, then fit the filler cap to the plastic ring. Therefore attaching the fitting ring is not a 2 minute job.

My givi tank bag is ok but looks odd on the bike so I only use when swmbo has filled
Every other orrifice with assorted lady shite.......

I've just bought a ds04, rigid one from ebay. Find one of the italian suppliers as I've done for several italian made items, even allowing for postage it is much cheaper. I probably saved around £25-30 allowing for extra postage. If it is a faff to change over, I'll let the local mechanic do it rather than me risk a mess of things.

Thanks ..I've got one from FC moto, despite the warnings from a local givi retailer wanting to charge £152 all in and telling me all bout how shocking the online shop was in Germany for £105 ordered Sunday delivered Tuesday, the lock ring does look odd but it's a pain undoing straps to refuel.....seems well made to!

Can you post a few pics of it fitted please??

Tapatalked from my MotoX Dev Edition.

I can land the Kappa 308 + tank ring in Ireland for about €95

Ordered the Kappa 308 + tank ring for €91 delivered to Ireland............you can't say fairer than that!!

Can anyone with a pre 2008 Adventure that has a Givi or Kappa tanklock bag fitted, tell me the specific flange/adaptor that you had to use. There seems to be a lot of confusion both on the internet and with my supplier.

If you can't recall the model number.........pictures would help.
