Anybody out there got the GIVI plate fitted to an Adventure? I realise I can't use my existing BMW box from my GS1100, and have got an old GIVI topbox lying in the garage which I can use if it'll fit OK on the Adv. If anyone has fixed one on, or has any pics of how the plate fixes on, I'd much appreciate it. Reason I'm a wee bit worried is that the GIVI plate which was fitted to the 1100 originally, snapped the rear subframe. Could have been overloaded at some point, but the fixing points certainly didn't help. I'd be interested to see how the GS ADV plate mounts.

Cheers../Rob

On another thread...

GIVI now make an Adventure-specific plate, but mine was fitted using a modified standard plate. As it hangs out a fair way at the back, I don't overload it (use Vern's excellent panniers instead). Looks good with the silver/red version.

If you remove the pillion handle you will find there is plenty of room to fit an M5 Givi plate with no over hang.:)
If your going to buy a new box the Givi flow comes with it,s own plate. It,s 35L and again if you remove the handle will fit a treat.
it comes with mounting hardware in the form of W style clamps and nuts and bolts. I,ve got one on a GS and there is a bit of overhang , but the box is brilliant.
In Oz they are only $165 the genuine BMW box and mount by comparison is about $600.
It makes agood back rest for my son,You can get a backrest for the Flow as well.

Cheers guys, you've confirmed my initial feelings, that GIVI is the way forward...Now, where did I put the keys for it.....
