Looking for topbox for my WC which I pick up in Sept, whilst I like the way the vario box fits I`m not too convinced about the volume and less about the price.

Wondered if anyone had tried the Givi Trekker as there`s what looks like good deal on ebay at the mo`

Now if someone would care to buy one and do a review i`d be most grateful;);)

I paid £75 for the rack , takes about 10 min to fit. No top box yet,but the 52L is huge, but it will take two System 6 helmets.

As I use my GS for commuting so I don't ride with panniers to make M25 & A406 filtering less fraught.

I chose the Trekker as it takes my work kit when riding & helmet + assorted bits. Room for overtrousers, extra gloves, water, lunch & more.

Its not as tall as it seems though as my Schuberth C3 is very close to the top when placed upright inside.

The usual Givi mechanism & lock, so easy to use.

I paid £300 in April, but have a different baseplate that looks like it mounts the box a bit further back. I doubt the backrest is included, if so it's a bargain.

Ive got a c3 so thats interesting. Wife has a Shoei quest so the ability to slot 2 lids in is desirable.
The backrest ,if you add it on this deal, is £10 so all in £299.

I bought a givi 52l trekker top box and rack for my tc gs12 from Lancaster Honda.
This ad could be their eBay shop?
Excellent service from them and would recommend them. 52l is far superior to BMW vario.

Had a trk46 , very good and will take one lid but not two, replaced it with a trk52 which will take 2 lids ( well one size large c3 and one small c3) but is not as well made and uglier.

I have a 46ltr (the 52ltr was not available when I kitted my bike out) top box and 33ltr Trekkers on my S10.

Look good on the bike and are all usable space (unlike the BMW Varios) but they all leak slightly in heavy rain. If you buy a Trekker top box, make sure you have a waterproof inner bag to protect any valuables. The Trekker bags are NOT waterproof.

All new trekker's should now have updated security locks and additional latches on the side of the box to make them waterproof.....enquire before you purchase:thumb2

My original, early Trekkers did not have the latches and were returned to Givi due to water ingress. All THREE were replaced with ones with latches and although better, all THREE are still not totally waterproof.

My early trk46 did not have extra latches and you could jet wash it and it did not leak .

That's good to know if I buy another GS - my Trekker 46l top box leaked too.

I am ordering a 52l Trekker for my GS '08 (new model) with BMW Vario luggage rack. Does anyone have the details or the part number of the kit required to fix the Trekker? I called 3 suppliers and got 3 different answers, and prices ranging from £15 to £65.
I assume that if a new Givi plate is needed, the BMW one has to be removed..? (not according to one supplier)
Thanks

Thanks - just ordered the 689 - it replaces the plate so 'should be 10kg, and must be a mistake in our website...' great service from Emma at Motorcycle Planet :thumb

52 litre Trekk

About the same size as the BMW 49 L. Good for two helmets!
