Glasson

Looking to get out for the first ride of the year, weather depending, to a place called Glasson which is just outside Lancaster. Anybody been there and any recomendations for the area?
Thinking of traveling sraight up from Liverpool to Southport, Preston and then up the A6 towards Lancaster and cutting off for Glasson.

Only been once and wasn't impressed - it's not pretty, there's nothing there and the short ride from Lancaster city centre to Glasson dock is pretty uninspiring Much better to head into the Trough of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales instead

As Sven says there isn't much at Glasson dock... The road between there and Knott End is alright, and a bit of a local rat race in the week day evenings.

The roads nice roads to the west of the M6 are few aren't that inspiring in my opinion. However the chips on Southport Prom aren't bad, and you can pop into Southport Superbikes while you're there...

If you want top road enjoyment, get up to the M6 J31, hang a right onto the A59, and then head up into the Trough... Like the attached route... Not many miles, country roads, very scenic, and not many power rangers as the roads are pretty tight and bumpy........
