Well I definitely reckon it’s at least 10 times better than Glen Coe. :thumb2
The mountains are a LOT more dramatic / scenic and there’s a superb loch with cracking views too. Oh and there’s hardly anyone there compared to the other place. :thumb2 What’s not to like.
I’m including Glen Moriston and Loch Cluanie in this before I get corrected. :D

With the bonus of an alternative to the Bealach na Ba too. The bealach from Ratagan to Glenelg with fine views over to the east and the wee ferry to Khylrea at the end. Note to self: must get back there soon!

I was up the Ratagan yesterday on my peddly bike. This was the superb view over to Skye. A truly stunning part of the world. :thumb2 IMG_5767.jpeg

Worth a trundle right through Glenelg to Arnisdale and Corran on a nice day....quite a workout on a peddly bike I would think!
Shot my first fox off that road!
Used to visit the stalker...long since dead...Ian Arnisdale...he used to make, and play, his own fiddles. Great talent.
Used to lamp all over Mam Ratagan, up Gleann Bheag and Arnisdale.
Gavin Maxwells house...site of..known as Camasfearna in his book 'Ring of Bright Water' is down below the road at Sandaig...walk/peddly down through the forestry it's a magical spot...there's a memorial stone there. You'll see it on an OS map.

Not long back, 'they' wanted to put a 50 limit all the way from Cluanie Dam to Morvich....all the best bits!
Thank goodness they didnt but I reckon the fun police will eventually prevail
from Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh is one of the greatest hooligan roads in the UK

Aah, that’ll explain why there were a load of cars parked, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, when I went past earlier in the year in my car to Corran! :thumb2 They must’ve been on their way down there to see the memorial. I’ll have to go for a ride down there when I’m next in the area.

In early May we used the Glenelg Ferry (last remaining turntable ferry in the UK) from Skye and then dropped down into Glen Shiel. Mixed weather but nice to back there.

Very true. It is a fantastic road on the bike and not too shabby in a car. I also really enjoy it the other way too.
