Following some recent purchases from GLF, I would like to say what a top bloke the proprietor is. Graham is a sole proprietor (I think) and certainly gives excellent customer service. He stocks decent quality brands such as Arai, Halvarssons, MJK Leathers, Knox, Daytona boots and others.
He also takes on repairs if required.

I have no connection with GLF, other than being a satisfied customer receiving an excellent friendly and polite service.:thumb2

i had the opposite experience - not very good.

(essentially i bought a a gerbing jacket from GLF that had a hole in it within 24 hours - i took it back to GLF and he basically said it was not warranty - the hole was my fault - !!)

i went direct to gerbing and got a new jacket under warranty.

naught out of ten for GLF.

2-1 for GLF:thumb2

Brilliant service Graham went out of his way to ensure I got my Daytona boots repaired under warranty, kept me informed to what was going on as well.

Hi Everybody.

I am that Graham Falcke, proprietor of said humble establishment (sole trader) and I thank all of you who have shown your loyalty over the years.

However I must take issue with steveuk and correct him - I presume his memory is failing him; I remember him because I try to treat customers as people and Gerbing warranty problems are rare; his is the only hole in a garment I have ever seen in many years trading...I took him at his word because his assertion at the time that it had "appeared out of the blue" was very convincing...so much so that I entered into a long and painful correspondence with Terry Salter, the then MD of CNT Distribution, the Gerbing UK importer. Terry refused point blank to believe Steve's story and went to the expense of independant laboratory testing to establish the cause of the hole. The conclusion was that the hole had been caused by physical damage when in Steve' possession.

All emails were copied direct to steveuk and I am astonished and disappointed that after doing all that any retailer could do to represent a customer (and more than most would do) that this is his reaction.

I'm pleased to say that the vast majority of customers are a pleasure to deal with and long may the rest of you patronise GLF.

Graham great to see an owner coming on and addressing a problem and giving their side of a story:thumb2

Another +1 for Graham and GLF. My wife bought a pair of Halvarrsons trousers from him a couple of years ago and they have had to be replaced a couple of times. The first time was during the warranty period and the second time the warranty had expired. The first replacement was handled smoothly with no quibbles (trousers had leaked). The second time I knew they were out of warranty and I contacted Graham more out of hope than expectation. But he sorted it out again, getting a new pair of trousers in and replaced the originals free of charge.:thumb2

the jacket was replaced FOC by the supplier after a brief exchange of emails which excluded GLF. i maintain that the the satisfactory outcome i achieved was reached without any kind of help from the point of sale.

+1 for GLF. Graham sold me my Tour-X cheaper than any other outlet even though he had to order it in. I found him to be very courteous and genuine and he did not go for the "Hard Sell" when i showed interest in some Halvarssons kit.He answered all my questions, gave me a Brochure and left me to "Get back to me if you need any more info or wish to place an order."

Not exactly what you said in your first post though is it???

sorry - i didn't choose my words very carefully in my second post - by "supplier" i meant wholesaler (the company supplying to point of sale).

i can clarify my mistake - the jacket was replaced F.O.C. by the wholesaler (importer?) with no help from the point of sale.

GLF?
Awful place.
Wouldn't step foot in the place and if I did I certainly wouldn't stay for 3+ hours talking crap, drinking coffee and frightening customers.:augie
If only they had a web site I wouldn't have to get such great customer service from Graham ever again.

I also made the mistake of shopping there. Nipped in to buy some Daytona wellies and came away with a Halvarssons Safety suit. Really nice chap.

Thank goodness for this thread. I bought a pair of Daytona`s about 4 years ago from said establishment and now they have decided to leak so I need a new pair. I couldn`t remember where I`d got them from.

Will I go back to GLF? Yep......;) The service was great last time so I`m hoping for the same again.

Now, about the discount;)

Another satisfied customer here.

Had a MJK jacket and trousers (textile) made to measure five years ago. Stilll going strong and have never leaked. Also had a pair of Held gloves made to measure at the same time, which have only just worn through. Been back a few times since, and Graham always provides excellent service.

By the way, as well as making coffee, he also makes an excellent cup of tea!

Another vote for GLF. I needed the the small ventilation bits on the top of my Arai. To save me a return trip Graham posted them out to me. Where else would you get that service.

GLF

I have to say that I recently have spent a lot of time in the afore mentioned establishment, I am in the process of setting up a 10 man motorcycle unit for BTP to respond to fatalities on the West Coast Main line railway, and as such was looking for good quality kit to set my lads up with,Graham has been extremely helpful with this and has gone out of his way to obtain the kit and clothing as quickly as possible , we have purchased Halvarssons safety suits from him along with a lot of other bits and pieces and find it to be superb clothing for our role

GLF Accessories up for sale and the proprietor is to change career direction into 'commercial lighting'

Pity the motorcycle retail industry is to lose Graham as he is very knowledgeable as well as being a top bloke.
