Glide typing - life changing if you have fat fingers.

I hate typing messages on my phone, always pressing the wrong keys. My boys always take the piss at how slow I type and all my typos.

Then one of them told me today about glide typing, OMG. Why didn't he tell me about it before. Truly a game changer.

I had to enable it first on my Samsung.

Swipe to text has been around for years,

Just make sure you tweak the settings to learn your style,

otherwise you tend to get basic predictive text, once it learns your swiping style its leaps and bounds

I didn't have to tweak anything, it just works.

I only learnt about this when I got a new iPhone 16 and even then, it was only after my sister who told me about it

The real revelation for me is the dictation ability my new phone has in transcribing speech into text.

It knocks 'swipe to text' in to the outfield

The downside to speech to text is that my 91 year old mother has found she can dictate endlessly long messages my saying 'Hey Siri...' some of them rival War and Peace!

I'll give the glide thing a go
