Glitchy Software/error messages after Service Notification

Hi everyone... My 2024 BMW X1 car popped up brake failure yesterday, drove moderately, got to dealer (it's a known issue but BMW have played it down).... So I am less than happy. So imagine my annoyance when I started my bike and got a service notification (it'll be a year old in May)... But after this I quickly got battery critically low, suspension failure, sell specialist assistance immediately!!!!! Oh and I'm going to France in 3 weeks.... I couldn't believe it. Especially as the battery is not low. The auto height icon changed to orange and after a few expletives, I turned the bike off and then on....

The service message popped up again, but no errors, I checked the battery 14.7v and the auto height icon was no longer orange.

What's going on, anyone had this? Is it just a software glitch and not a sign of something more terminal? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks
 
the battery is only at 14.7 V when running ?

it all starts with the joke electrical system and the pathetic capacity battery that can't cope with life - it throws a temper tantrum if the voltage drops a smidgen below a threshold that is clearly set too high for a normal world - I presume the silly suspension eats so much current the almost no capacity battery rapidly falls to a low voltage situation that normal systems would never worry about - however the engineers couldn't get the suspension to behave correctly without it...

instead - they create the very issues they were hoping to avoid - why didn't they just have the suspension do nothing at all, until the vehicle notices its running (and with healthy volts) then try to melt the wiring doing pointless silliness ?

I guess it stems from the need to have the suspension drop even if the rider stalls it - otherwise he'll topple over
and of course the joke under capacity cooling system means the silly fan is running all too often - stealing what's left of the tiny grunt the battery once had

stop at the side of the road to try and adjust something on the mad TFT - and you then turn off the engine to try and stop it over heating - and the additional heat soak, means upon cranking (with its undersized starter wiring) the bike sees a huge volt drop and all systems have a melt down.....


their cars get undersized starter wiring too.... its a BMW disease since 2008 - blame the accountants for trashing the business over a quids worth of wiring

Yes I think it definitely had a melt down. I did 100 miles after the glitch seemed to go and everything was fine. You are right on the 14.1volts.... it's back on an optimate now and the voltage is showing 13.1v. My bike has a lead Acid AGM battery, but does also have a Datatool tracker.... the battery voltage has been consistently high.
