I didn't like the GIVI/KTM ones I got with the bike, so I took a gamble on these from Turkey http://www.globescout.com.tr/ via an Italian supplier http://www.safeximpact.com/

They took a bit of engineering to fit the rails:

A fair bit of scaffolding but not as on the piss as the GIVI/KTM offering:

Look much nicer than the GIVI boxes too. Much prefer the exhausts cut out.:thumb2

Expedition ready with two support trucks to follow and pick up bits.:augie

The only thing I think might be a problem is where the plastic parts are on the corners they have bolted them on rather than riveted, so the end of the bolt and nut stand proud inside which will rub on my bags (GSA bags fit perfectly ;)) and damage them eventually. Im sure I can find something to prevent it though.

I'll report back next month after a 6500 mile trip to Norway and back.

Well impressed with the GlobeScouts. They held up really well (better than the KTM/Touratech top box tbh). I used the GSA inner bags, which fit ok, tho not perfectly, and Kriega US20 bags on top for my cooking gear, tent and kip mat. The righthand pannier had 2 weeks evening meals in, and hill walking gear. The left one had doss bag and
clothing. Loads of room, waterproof in torrential rain at high speed and well built. Thoroughly recommend them if you don't want the lop sided KTM offerings.

A couple of dome headed nuts from your local fixings supplier will prevent any damage Adam.

Good looking boxes. May I ask, was there much price difference between them and the KTM/Givi option?

They were €1250 with all the rail, straps and postage, so a bit more at the time. Probably quite a lot more at current exchange rates.

Yeah, Im really happy with them. Just need to sell the KTM trekker ones now. :)

Two months ago I would have had your arm off.

I could not make up my mind between plastic KTM things which fitted nicely and were narrow, but the small pannier was tiny, the Trekker look much higher quality and have plenty of capacity but stick out so far I am wider than some cars.

I like the look of your kit, but probably not enough to spend a load more money and be stuck with another set of panniers (Still got trekkers from Yamaha on shelf in garage) just to save a coupe of inches of width.

I am considering a roll bag or throwover panniers for shorter trips now and saving the shipping containers for the long European holidays.

Call me sad, but I knew I would be taking lot of pictures of my bike on the Norway trip, and I knew looking at the lopsided ones was going to irk me for years to come. :D
