Hi All. I am after some recommendations for three(ish) season gloves. I say ish because at this stage I'm not even sure exactly what I want but here goes. I am after a pair of gloves for use most of the year round when the going gets cool to cold. I really don't want a thick pair because I hate the lack of feel/flexibility. In the ideal world they would be Gore-tex or equivalent, warm but not heavily insulated. Not electrically heated. I am happy to pay out for the right ones. Do these gloves exist? Any ideas?

Gloves

I have a pair of Held Arctic gloves that I have had since last October. So far they have been very good. They are Goretex and maybe more insulated than you want but they seem to have enough feel now that they are worn in. They are well made and feel that they will last a few years. Maybe a bit small on the sizing as I had to get a size 10 this is a size up on my old gloves. They are not cheap but as I said they seem well made. I got mine from Rodger at Get Geared in Leeds he is very helpfull. I would recommend you try them on before you buy.

Cheers Glenn.

Trouble is, most 'winter' gloves offer little protection (with one or two exceptions).

My answer is furry muffs in the winter and decent, armoured summer gloves all year round :)

Expensive but the best I have ever had.

Held

I can recommend Held Quatrotempi 2 in one glove. They have 2 compartment for your hand. The inner glove for when the weather is warm and the outer glove fro when the weather gets wet, as it has a gore tex liner. They are not brilliant for winter (bearable just with heated grips) but def for the 3 seasons that I think you have in mind.:thumby:

BMW Pro Summer gloves - full length, gore tex lined, still thin so you can feel control, built in visor wiper. Highly recommended - replaced them with another pair when they finally started to look worn after 50,000 miles.

I bought a pair of these in the Autumn, they're superb!

Bought from Sam no doubt!

I have a pair of those too :thumb2 Not too keen on the cuff (I much prefer a very short cuff to a gauntlet style) but good gloves, and very good in the rain ... :beerjug:

Take a look at the Held Satu.
Gloves with Gore-Tex X-Trafit maybe worth looking at, the Gore-Tex membrane is laminated to the outer covering so rain doesn't soak the glove, gloves dry much faster, hands maybe warmer in the rain.

So.......

Not any further on with your quest really......in fact, probably more confused than ever

I'm not being sarcy (well, I am a little bit :blast) but there honestly isn't any point in asking questions like 'What gloves', 'What bike', 'Which is better' etc etc......

Every answer will be limited by the respondent's own subjective and very limited views.....
Every respondent will have a different shaped hand to yours (in this example of gloves)
Each one of them will have a different perspective on value, cost, comfort etc
Some will be talking bollox, some will be using their gloves everyday, some only once a week....some will be justifying their latest purchase and others will be gloating that they got an end of season bankruptcy sale bargain.

In short, there is only ONE person who can possibly decide which gloves to buy, on what criteria, what budget, what level of comfort expected etc.

Guess who that is?

Go to a shop....go to ten......go to as many as you can.....

Try as many gloves on as you like the look of (there's another thing I missed....many here buy things just because they are shallow tarts anad the new item matches their bike or makes them look macho or something :blast, but hey, whatever rings your bell)

See which ones fit well, are easy to get on and off (do that several times to make sure the inner linings don't get pulled out with the outers) and which ones fall inside your budget/quality/performance parameters

Good luck with buying a new pair of gloves, but I think you'll get my point.....
There is no point in asking here :thumb2
