Go Pro Stills

I have a bike trip planned next summer for my 40th birthday, I am rubbish at remembering to take photos so was planning to mount a camera to the bike. Am I right in thinking that I can set it up to take stills every few minutes and just leave it to do so all day as I ride?

I've found it to be a good thing, you do get some random stuff as you say, but occasionally you get a very pleasant surprise. I was messing about with mine and set it up near the bird feeder. Got some cracking shots.

Using GoPro Studio in Windows:

Place the playhead so that the frame you want to export is displayed in the player window, then selecting File > Export > Still Image.

...or just screenshot the paused video window.

Thanks for the replies. So I would need an external power source? The batteries do not last long enough if you are just taking stills?

It'll depend on the state of your battery, temperature and how many pics you want to taken over a given time period.

Why not set your camera up to take say one pic per minute and see how long it lasts. ( Gopro studio with let you stitch those shots together into a movie timelapse).

I think this was one shot every one or two minutes and battery lasted a couple of hours.
