Goggles

I know goggles are still made out there somewhere, so does anybody use them and can anyone recommend any - especially ones that won't mist/steam up.

Had to use my full-face this morning but I still suffer slightly from clostro-fobbya (you know enclosed spaces) which is why I usually use an open-face. No problems for the last 15+ years (fairings etc.) but now I am getting a bit rain lashed in the face and I'm looking for a cheaper option than changing bikes or just becoming a fair weather rider

i use bog standard scotts. have done for years & they have never misted to my recollection.

i even use them snowboarding, but you have to use the double skinned lenses then or they will mist. single skin is fine on the bike.

Oakley O-Frame goggles with a MX helmet, linked with a Quick-Strap so there's no fiddling around to put them on. POA Racing in Chorley, Lancs supplied them & the goggles cost around £30 with another £15 for the Quick-strap but there are plenty of good goggles costing less.

For off-road I generally use scotts, but have most of the leading makes over the years and not had a problem with any of them. I tend to buy one new pair a year and go for the cheapest. My wife bought me a pair of Pro Grip's last year which have a reactolite lense. Sounds a bit excessive, but they actually work really well. although they were, apparently, £35.

Have you tried on an Arai Tour-X? There is an incredible amount of space in front of your face - so maybe you wouldn't feel so claustrophobic.

I use Scott - special ones for foured gits and very comfy they are too.

Scotts are good but i prefer my Pro-Grips , there all much the same i think.

I use a BM system 4 helmet and in good weather have tried goggles. I bought Scott, but I find that the opening in the helment is a little too restricted or the goggles a little too big cause after a while I can feel them pushing down on the bridge of my nose. Was thinking of trying Oakely. Anybody had this experience?

Yep! Using Progrip but only when the goggles were new. Once the foam has been compressed a little with use the problem disappears.

I find the ski/ MotoX type googles all a bit too bulky.

These are altogether a bit more snug.
