Going to look at a K75.

I changed the handlebars on my K75S for K75C bars which improved comfort considerably. I found the original type Metzlers followed white lines. I'm using Avon Roadriders now and they are OK and cheapish.
Lights aren't special but easily improved using relays. Mine is an early model maybe later ones use relays, I don't know.

Was happy with the bars on my S, used Michelin Macadam 50 on mine, much better than Metzeler

I'm tempted to go for slightly higher and wider bars. I prefer a more upright position.

The handling is not as I'd like it. It seems to weave a bit.
The tyres on it at the moment are Dunlop Arrowmax. :nenau
Would these be the reason?

'C' bars will give you the same effect as risers, probably a couple of inches in height at most. Trouble is, second-hand 'C' bars are getting harder to find as it's a popular modification (the only additional change needed is the master cylinder to steering tube brake hose if the bike is an older one).

The weave could be the tyres. It could equally be worn or poorly adjusted steering bearings. There's also the possibility that the fluidbloc steering damper isn't damping.

Replacement of the bearings/damper is cheaper than a pair of tyres. Adjustment is even cheaper!

If the bike is in need of tyres anyway, I'd do that then see if the steering needs attention.

These bikes should track straight at any speed they'll reach and be stable. Where they suffer by comparison with more modern bikes is the tyre choice, no-one makes radial rubber for them in the standard sizes any more. Bias belted are good enough, they just don't like over-banding and studs in the wet, they'll skip off such things and if you are used to radial tyres it may surprise you. The effect feels far worse than it actually is.

Zombie thread I know but I do like that GS/K.

There I was thinking my K75 with a half RS fairing was special. Well, it was when the dealer put it together and sold it as some kind of limited edition. Some time ago though.

Agreed, Jake.
Update....
3 weeks after I bought the K75s, I was knocked off it.
Mainly fairing damage but her insurance company decided it was an unviable repair. :(
They did think it was worth more than I paid for it though, so not all bad. ;)

The assessor mentioned a figure of €500.
The insurance company never mentioned it since.
They've paid out in full.
If nobody contacts me about it this time next year, it might start to shed parts.
If you're interested in making a token offer, Jay, I can put it to the insurance company.
I'm sure they'd be happier to collect a few bob, rather than pay someone to come collect it. :nenau
