I find the best way to gauge the cost of living in any country is to buy a Mcdonalds meal, last Weds on the way home from Les Gets (mountain biking) , in Martigny Switzerland a 1/4 Cheese Meal was 11.20CHF which for my convience was converted in store at a rate of 1 to 1 to 11.20 Euro which is about £10.50. So 1/4 cheese meal incl shake and fries for mum dad and two boys £42.00.
Great country though, wish I lived there.

But oh no, I wouldn't have it. Three starters, Three mains, and 6 beers later they relieved my (already groaning) wallet of CHF175!!
