Gone to the Dark (grey) Side

950/990 Twins

Hi guys,

I've just sold a Megamoto, thought I would go for a 450 exc and a 800gs. That was just about the catalogue of mistakes, miss the Megamoto like hell ! Toured Europe twice and it was bloody great, yes you can tour on it, trust me. The 450 exc is good fun, great to ride across the fields etc and not quite roadworthy yet - but it will be I promise.
Haven't bought a 800gs yet though, tried a Tiger 800 and liked that to be honest. However I'm drawn towards a 950 SM or maybe a 950 SMR.

What are these like - honest answers only please ?
Fuel consumption figures anyone, and yes I'm used to a small tank, remember the Megamoto only has a 13 litre tank as well ?
Any idea on prices chaps ?

Thanks

Now this is one seriously cool looking bike :beerjug:
Handsome in a way that the fugly GS couldnt match, I give you that indeed :thumb2

I have had 150 miles out of my 950sm.And to be honest that wasn't just cruising either.

There has been a bit of a change - I found a better deal on a 2007 KTM 990 from Premier Bikes in Didcot so have gone with that one instead. A word about the dealer who was going to sell me the 2008 990 - Bridge Motorcycles in Exeter. I phoned them with the bad news this morning and they accepted that they could not compete on price with the deal I had found and are refunding my deposit - a professional approach that I appreciate.

Delt with Premier in the past .............excellent people to deal with:beerjug:

oh feck this brings all the memories of my 990 flooding back:tears

agree 100% - they did the big service on my SE yesterday (valves etc) and some other work I'd requested which I just don't have time to do and it was all sorted. I hate it when you rock up at some dealers and they say "Oh sorry we didn't order that" PB had got everything in off just the booking phone call. Top chaps.

cheers

Markie
