That is just not true.... BMW's have been prime targets going back to the late eighties early nineties.

Well that’s the way I perceived it to be when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s. The BMW was the older gentleman’s motorcycle and the kids robbing bikes wanted speed or a scrambler

Im curious what lock did they see that changed their minds?

According to MCN it was the fact that they clocked that there was a lock on the rear as well.
