Gone

This works a treat!

Held literally next to the ignition button and all but red flashing light kept coming on.

Good idea .... I'd like to see the fuckers steal the wheels off the train :D

If only you knew, when I was younger they used to steal the wheels and weigh them in for scrap, from the work yards, but getting back to the thread, really pissed off for the OP, but he is fine and that is more important.

Actually not that fine. Not in the bleeding heart sense but seriously worried about whether I’ll be getting insurance post this - my car was targeted last year and Carole Nash and Bennetts both said no thank you on renewal of the bike insurance. And even if I can will they be coming back? Liverpool is not as bad as the stereotypes suggest - there are worse places now. But it’s not some leafy quiet town. I’d move if it kept me riding but the other half won’t.. thanks for the support guys. Don’t get complacent!

You must be gutted, I had a 15 grand car stolen minus the keys a couple of years back, they were at the side of my bed when the police knocked at 4am. Totally mint and my pride and joy, it was on eBay in bits 2 days later and I put the police in touch with the ad. All the guy got (bearing in mind he had my car in bits plus a stolen Audi A5 on his drive minus it’s dashboard) was a suspended sentence. Joke. Horrible feeling not to mention the stress of putting a claim in and having to fill in 20 page document.

Seriously, I feel for you. Thank God, I've never suffered a loss of anything through theft, but as I get older, the anxiety about it happening sometime gets worse.

I had a bike nicked from outside the house back in the 80's

The feds recovered it, crashed into a car on a drive many miles away.

As we arrived the scrote who nicked it had been caught by the k9 - teeth in the arse !!

said scrote got his brief to give a sob story in court on how he neded the bike ( my bike) to get home as he's missed

the last ferry to Portsmouth

Bleedin heart liberal magistrate, gave him a suspended...

All i got was no bike, and loaded premiums for the next 5 years!

Where is the justice in that???

Feckers.. so sorry for you.. when they catch them, something needs chopping off!!... :ninja1: Scum!!

Don't know why we keep them in prison with three meals a day, PlayStation etc. Freckling give them hard labour or bring back the birch. That's the problem these days they know that they can't be touched.
That 70 year old fella had the right idea stabbing the bloke who broke into his home. In my opinion you should have the right to defend yourself and your property.

Sorry for you loss mate. The justice system is a total joke these, youngsters are not scarred of being caught, they are growing up learning that stealing pays. How long before it gets worse, over the last year moped gangs are expanding. Broad daylight is no protection.

Well I'm due to go on a weeks riding holiday with my mates next month.

Decided now not to take my BMW. Going to take my Bandit 1250 instead.

I'm just not happy leaving it outside multiple hotels overnight during our holiday. So a £3k scrapper is what I'll take instead.

I love riding any bike, so who cares, but I'm not leaving £20k of my property in the street overnight.

Not a chance.

I could live with myself if that got stolen, but my BMW is my 50th Birthday Present to myself, so it means a bit more than just money.

Times haven't changed, just my feelings towards it have.

Sorry to hear this FD2, Im only 20 miles from you depending on which area of Liverpool you are. I have three bikes all locked in a Garage, CCTV on the drive and in the Garage. Linked to my phone which alerts me . The bikes are alarmed and locked to solid concrete fixings, they also have discs locks on. The Garage doors are heavily reinforced also with alarms. and an Old work type van is backed up against the doors ! What more can one do ? I just hope I'm one of the lucky ones who does not get done.

My heartfelt sympathy to the OP, it must be devastating to lose your bike like that. One reason why I have added an alarm and had a BikeTrac tracker fitted, as well as the usual disk locks and chain - just trying to maximise the deterrent factor

I can sort of understand the previous poster leaving his GS at home, though I hope it is very securely parked there while he is away! Still, not much point in having a bike if you dare not take it on a trip. I spend a lot of time on booking.com and Google Street view when planning trips to make sure hotels have suitable parking and are in safe looking locations.
