Gotta have a decent Chowder location at midway (approx)

Know a nice wee road over to adara jay if your intrested.

Enjoy the day.

Since you are thinking of a general direction, I will point you on a few of the best roads.
Don't care how you get to Draperstown. Leave Draperstown and head for Plumbridge via the B47.
Forget the Antrim coast road. This 20 miles is the best biking road in the north.
Exit Plumbridge and head for and into Victoria Bridge. Turn left under the main road and head for Castlederg via the Fyfin road.
Head for Glenties via the R253/Mullinard. (Not the main road)
Then Ardara/Killybegs/Bruckless/Dunkeneely. As you approach Bruckless, there is a
Pub called Mary Murrins on the left. If you get to the church with the round tower you are 200 metres too far. Stop there for lunch.
After lunch, on past Donegal town on the bypass, being aware of speed cameras there, and on to Laghey.
Turn left just past the filling station and head on the R232 for Pettigo. This is over the top of the mountain on, if you have the nerve for it, one of the wildest rides you will ever be on. Through Pettigo and back into Norn Iron.
Via Ederny, Lack and on towards Omagh. You are on your own from here to your start point. Circa 275 miles. A nice day out.

Hey Myke - like the sound of that - cheers for the info :beerjug:

I used to fly-fish for trout in all those wee loughs up there on both sides of the R 253 back in the day, then certain 'non-locals' introduced pike into many of them, which promptly ate all the trout. Must take a run up there again some of these days and catch some of those (by now) well-fed monster predators :bounce1:bounce1

Well best laid plans of mice and Men are worth Nought till you hit the road

after a night which may have been due to .... Dare I say it? Man Flu

I decided against taking to the highways and byways as a sneeze which appear from no where just at the minute could make cornering "interesting"

PLus there's the I am feckin freezin thing going on too

Myke Thanks for that route My Dad and I used it a few times going up to Gael Tara Yarns in Kilcar to install a monster dry cleaning machine I shall definitely be revisiting it now you have mentioned it
