Spent the weekend at Gairloch Highland Lodge with some friends and went a run up to Durness on the Saturday.

Blue sky, double figure temp and quiet dry roads were brilliant.
But... what a miserable shower of bikers, of which there were many, GSers included.
From the standing on the pegs and ignoring every road user around, just back from the Dakar hero's.
To the i'm coming through, hard as nails motherfu**ers, oot ma way.:nenau

Euro riders would rather crash and burn than NOT give a nod or wave.:thumby:

Maybe not enjoying highland roads:nenau:flag

Excellent run down to Applecross on the way home on Sunday.
Scotland's brill when the sun shines.:flag

I knowI hate it to,the buggers dont give you a glance .Looks a good trip mate,Im goin up there very soon :ymca2

I always wave or nod when I see a bike coming the other way, but if they nod back, I dunno. I almost ran up the arse of a car turning right in front of me a few years back, due to my nodding activities. So now, it's a nod whilst keeping my eyes firmly fixed on the road ahead.

Waves

Aye, naebody on Durness beach either,

The last time I rode up the A82 on a sunny day, I wove? at so many bikers, that by the time I reached Tyndrum, my hand had detached itself at the wrist coming clean-off with my glove.

Only some duct tape and a zip tie scrounged from a 1200 owners right hand, lower tool tube, saved the day and enabled me to ride home.

I'm not bothered if they wave or not... the whole roads mine attitude from mostly the GS riders is another matter

The majority of the GS's had P, S or Y registrations
Preston, Scotland, Yorkshire.. True :tosser

Aye, it's no a biggy like, but.
The ones that brassed me off was a standie upie dakar wanabe followed by around 10 other riders, and it was like watching a bike tsunami engulfing everything in their path as they swept along the road.
Think they were all bungied together as were one went the others followed on regardless.
Others were just riding way beyond their abilities as they were clearly out of control and lucky I was a bike and not a car.
But there were some happy riders out there.:clap

No longer a real indicator of the origin of a bike/car - that disappeared around the late '70s when people bought outside their locale.

I agree with the Yorkshire :tosser though............ :thumb2

Al :)
