There's good folk everywhere but it's good to know they are in Kerry in generous proportion.

In case anyone was asleep for the last few months/years Mickey Harte's daughter was murdered on her honeymoon early last year hence the show of respect. The other side of the coin is that the same mickey Harte's team inflicted sore defeats on Kerry in the past. Kerry won easily enough in the end last Sat but respect would be accorded either way.

It's called decency & it's good to see it alive & well.

I watched the match in a pub in Dingle. As a Meath man living in Kerry it was a mixed weekend. Up the Royals.

A remarkable man who has shown such strength and gentleness these past 18 months. A lovely gesture from the folk from Kerry

How very touching, I wondered in the defeat that Tyrone & Down suffered in the last week had they just no fight left. I mean no badness in that.
I hope that Mickey can get some little comfort from the sport that he and his beloved daughter loved to share.
If I was from Kerry I'd feel very proud of my people for that gesture. It restores your faith in mankind. :thumb2

....As the coach headed down through Killarney hundreds on the pavements took over where the others left off, warmly applauding Tyrone...

That reminds me of a fantastic photobook

Paul Fusco's RFK Funeral Train. "...capturing the thousands of Americans who stood by the railroad tracks to greet the funeral train carrying Kennedy’s coffin.."

Good to see the death of the so called Celtic Tiger didn't bury everything

There is no doubt that Ireland lost a lot and took a lot of wrong turns in the last few years. But if you wanted your faith in decency, respect, honour and dignity restored, then Killarney at about eight o’clock last Saturday evening was the place to be.

Inspirational. Unforgettable. Classy.

And long may it be so. :clap:clap

His dignity in victory, defeat and now in tragic loss has long endeared him to a huge audience.
He well deserves that show of respect.
Well done to those supporters. :clap
