Going up to the bonnie lands on June 29 for a long weekend. Two Gs's and a Ktm 990:augie . I am planning on heading up toward Fort William an onto Fort Augustus. I have been up toward Applecraig before, which is a really good run, but i would like to incorporate some really off the beaten track kinda roads, that the gs's will be at home on.
Its just a few days away from "life", with a couple of mates. Sleeping next to the bikes, just a wee adventure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got any ideas?? Need forested areas to put up the hammocks at night tho:

ITYM "Applecross"....:)

From Fort William, take the A830 towards Mallaig, as far as Lochailort, turn left onto the A861. Stop at the Glenuig Inn for lunch / afternoon tea / a pint / dinner / or spend the night. Follow the A861 to Salen. At Salen turn right onto the B8007 which takes you into Ardnamurchan along one of the narrowest, twistiest and bumpiest roads you'll encounter on the mainland. Take the B8007 to its very end at Ardnamurchan Point then take the access road to the lighthouse which is the most Westerly point on the UK mainland.

Take lots of midge repellant...!

On the way back from Schtum`s route, ride from Strontian to Ardgour where you catch the Corran Ferry which takes you back onto the A82 (about 8 miles south of Fort Bill.) allow some extra time for this section, you will want to go back and do it again. Its probably the best wee road section in the world, ever.
Its also in complete contrast to the Ardnamurchan road. Can we even call that a road ?

Or
Then take the ferry to Tobermory and do an anticlockwise lap of Mull taking another boat to Oban. Did that recently in reverse order; lots of off the beaten track spots.
