hi,
we are up on holiday in yorkshire dales from sat 19th may for a week, staying in cottage near kettlewell, we know where devils bridge is and most of the roads in the lakes, and know around sedbergh. would be very greatfull if any one can let us know of any good roads, or places to visit. or if anyone wants to meet up.
we are a couple of new tossers, and did our first event at llangollen, we had a great time, and met some great people, including ian boyde and wife, ( hi ):D
i will be on a blue 650gs and other half on 1200gs adv.

GOOD ROUTE

If your riding around the Lancs/Yorks area you could try heading to Skipton then onto Clitheroe, and pick up the Trough of Bowland, Its a pretty good ride. Get some air time through the Trough!!!!!!:thumb :thumb :thumb . You will come out near Lancaster, then head for Devils Bridge and back into Yorkie territory:augie

Settle to Hawes

As you know the roads round sedburgh you probably know this one the road from Settle to Hawes B6479 is a good road a biker meeting place on a sunday at Hawes, cafe, fish and chip take away cafe. Last time i was up there about 5/6 weeks ago saw alot of GS's knocking about. I hope you enjoy your trip round the dales where ever you get to.

pick up a map and look for the minor roads between the above your going to have a great time on the roads...the road that follows the river Wharf is nice,
but so are most of the roads in the yorkshire dales..

PM me if you what A&B roads listed ..
much better than the roads around your neck of the woods...honest;)

you cant go back without seeing the road up honister, stop at the slate mine at the top, then travel around to grange, stoping for a coffee, then around derwenwater and on to portinscale, breathtaking scenery, better still go the tother way, Portinscale ,Grange, Honister, round Buttermere to Lorton and then on to winlatter :thumb2

:thumb Another vote for that route :D Very impressive as you go over the top past Honister mine then drop down into the valley :clap Make sure you`re in a low gear for plenty of engine braking :augie :eek

Wrynose / Hardknott / Langdale gives the brakes and engine braking even more of a work out.

Plus the clutch on the way up

If you are going to Hawes from Kettlewell another good route is to go over Buttertubs pass up to Tan Hill Inn- look on a map for Hardraw and Muker- that will take you in the rough direction. From Tan Hill in you can go on to Brough, Kirby Stephen and back round to Sedbergh. A brilliant route with a fantastic pub half way round.

Have a quick shuftie at the Scotland posts, there's info on possible routes for our weekend jaunt. you will probably know some of the area
