With regard to the questions about its waterproofing - i may be able to help as I used to work for the company that developed the underlying technology.
The basic technology is conductive/partially conductive fabric so unfortunatly it will not work when submerged in water (beacuse the water will conduct electicity). However the design that they are showing uses a rubber casing around the 'switches'. As there will always be fabric elements going into the rubber there will always be the risk of water ingress. On the positive side though, if it does get water logged, which is unlikely, as soon as it dries out it will work normally again - which is why it is washable!!
cheers
