The weather is supposed to be good this sunday , i want to go on a nice ride with something to see/do when i get there .
I live nr matlock derbyshire ,has anyone any idea's of a place to go, around 200 mile each way would be a good distance .

don't suppose there is a ride out in the middlands this sunday

Yep...set off early (like a day early) and get yerself to the hog raost........less than 200 miles and a vary nice place to go :D

Went upto the Cat & Fiddle last Saturday, first time ever. Took over 2-1/2 hours due to going cross country and speed restriction but well worth it.

But what do you suggest to someone who live in gods own backyard as a ride out?

Hartside Top Cafe.

Somewhere between Melmerby and Alston.

Consider this a navigational exercise.

Be it full brekky or cat-burger: Enjoy!

Pretty easy to find: Dunno what part of the Midlands you hail from but incorporating the Hartside Top Cafe into a loop would take in 2 superb roads which are great in either direction: From the Penrith junction of the M6 take the A686 for Alston. The cafe is about half-way to Alston. Watch for Police in the bushes, Kamikaze sports-bikes and maybe get got by the Hartside Snapper [ www.hartsidepics.com ] .....Admire the bikes at the cafe and continue to Alston where you take the B6277 to Middleton-in-Teesdale and Barnard Castle.
Like I said, good either way but I prefer the "up" direction for the Cumbria side.

Might see you there if you're unlucky :D

Looks like a good wekend anyway - Happy roads :beerjug:

[ Alston. The cafe is about half-way to Alston.

Bit of a run for a day trip, think i will go to snowdonia this sunday as never been & looks good on map :D

north wales

good choise! if you get over towards Bala, look on your map for the A4212 runs between A494 main road thro Bala, and A470.
awsome road one of the best in wales.:D :D

S'pose you're right: I was down there a few weeks ago and found the hedges very interesting.......:o
