Not a campsite or a B/B but try:

If you want to camp, there's a nice public site about 40km away, at Mamers.

If you look at the E402 (A28) (why do they do that...???) that runs north to Alencon, just to the East you'll see Mamers. The camp site is adjacent to a lake, and a short walk from the town centre with market place, restaurants, usual French stuff!

There's a kind of a small ring road around Mamers. The camp site is signed from the ring road on the north of town.

It's a bit late now but...

The Mercure Hotel in the centre of Le Mans is excellent and has secure compound parking.
