When I had my 1200GS serviced at 27,000 miles last Feb Linds replaced the alternator belt as a precaution. I haven't been able to ride a great deal since then so you can imagine my reaction when the belt disintegrated Sunday after just under 550 miles. Luckily the battery got me home.
Full marks to Linds for their response: they got the bike picked-up and taken to their workshop, checked but could find no reason for the belt's failure, fitted a new one, did a test ride, had the bike ready by 4:00pm Tuesday and sent the bill to BMW.
Like most tossers I'm more than willing to complain about poor service, so it only seems fair to give credit for great service.
