Hi Everyone,

My girl and I will be coming to the UK to purchase full sets of winter and summer gear, boots, etc.

I recently bought my bike in UK through this site but while we were there, we passed by some BMW dealerships and they didn't have much of the riders gear...

SO my question is - which bmw dealership has good stock of gear. We would be spending 5-6000 pounds in gear and want to plan it carefully. My biggest worry is that we are both very tall and very skinny so even for regular cloths we have a hard time finding stuff in stock.

Best,
ilian

In my experience BMW dealers do not carry vast amounts of stock. I would buy Rukka from Bikerland, Germany. Fantastic kit, superb warranty and good deals to be had.

Goosd luck

You could also try Moto Central near Hinkley. They will do a price match for nearly all gear. I got a Rukka Athos jacket for £375 post free doing this:thumb They also have a massive stock so they should be able to find something that fits you.

As above, the Beemer dealers dont keep great stocks at the best of times and I would imagine that they would be very low at this time of year.

MotoCentral is definitely worth a visit , they have a large store close to the M42 /M1 just outside of Wolvey:thumb

I was in Allan Jeffries bmw, baildon, yesterday, they had all sizes i needed assistant just kept popping into the stock area if sizes were not out. They are near leeds bradford airport.

If you're coming to London don't go to Park Lane as it's being renovated (not sure when it'll be finished). I tried to go to Battersea but it was shut on a Saturday.

Further outside of London Vines and Guildford or Caterham are better and Bahnstormers is good too. My recommendation is plan ahead and contact a dealer you'll be passing and get them to make sure they can get what you want.

Good luck!

Thank you guys, I will start emailing the recommended dealerships with the list of things and will sort it out with them...

I know Rukka stuff is really good but I thought it was better suited for colder weather/ northern climate. What we need here is something more universal as it get really hot in the summer but no matter where you are headed, you always pass through some mountains so the gear needs to work in both hot and cold weather. I think what we selected from the BMW gear will be fine with some Gerbing liners for the mountains.

I spoke to moto central about the price match offer they used to have on the website as had seen it on there last year. The guy i spoke to flat out denied it was ever on there.
I bought arma s from bikerland for around £400 less than any deal i could find in the uk.

Try Coopers Motorrad Tunbridge Wells, I was in there the other day and they had quite a good stock of clothing. Give Kevin in parts a ring, he is very helpful and may be able to sort you out :-)

Try looking on the homepage. http://www.motocentral.co.uk/ Third or fourth line down on the left.

I notice it says 'UK price match' which suggests it they won't match web or European offers? In smaller print, it says 'see our terms and conditions', but when I've looked in there, I can't find any mention of a price match or what it means.

Got my Rukka from Infinity in Hanger Lane (North London) and also checked with Bikerland in Germany at the time and there was not much in it - still cheaper in Germany but not enough to make it worthwhile (I think it was £25). The prices have gone up recently so things may have changed. Infinity also gives you 10% back in points to spend on other stuff but not sure if that is a hassle given that you don't live in the UK. If you do end up buying Rukka and need a warranty repair I'd make sure to find out how that is sorted (i.e. do you need to send it back to UK to get fixed or can you send it anywhere). You may find that if you are long legged that Rukka has a greater selection on trouser lengths. I'm the opposite of being long legged and my biggest problem was finding trousers that were not too long. Good luck. :thumb

if your in the London area, have a look at the KTM center in Hemel Hempsted they have all of the klim stuff in stock, give them a ring first and they can get the sizes in for you to try.
