How long will it take - how often do you stop? I find not stopping is the key to predictable journey times rather than speed travelled assuming you don't dawdle. Dublin Tralee is dooable in 3 hours 20 minutes legally ( well legal + 10%).
Advice for newbie on a long blast - don't stop too often & enjoy.
You might see me on the road but on a pushbike this weekend; next weekend the moto will be out & about at http://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227226 - you should think about the two in a row.
