Have BMW scored a marketing victory with the "good will" style extended warranty for known faults?.
We all feel like we have been treated as special when we receive it
.
It seems to me that BMW have avoided recall on the "big 3" (engine-gearbox oil leak, final drive problem & battery) ,with a thing called "good will"
. I wonder how long the "good will" will last after the warranty has expired
. A recall would have resolved these problems for all of us, but would have been a publicity and cost nightmare for BMW.
On balance I wonder if they have actually made the right financial choice.
