I'm probably behind the times and you know this already but .....
..... it appears that Google Streetview has been switched back on for Germany. It does not appear to be 100% but is a hell of a sight better than SFA.

That’s right.

The Germans have now accepted that the Stasi are gone.

When i was travelling Germany and indeed other EU countries, i was surprised how many roads have never had a google car on them yet.

In the UK everything is mapped.
Here at work we work closely with new developments and before the houses are built, google has been round the roads and recorded them.

Unfortunately, you were not involved with my daughter’s new build house. It took several months for the Post Office (or whoever it is) to create a post code.

Google still refuse to accept drone and still footage showing the road and the house and / or the post code.

Amazon, refuse to accept there is even a house there….. and don’t bother leaving any very simple instructions in Amazon’s “Tell us how to find your property” box, as the driver’s do not read them. These simple instructions, include ‘What 3-words’.

Hats off to the Post Office / postman / Parcel Force and DPD, once the post code was created, they all found the house with pinpoint accuracy.

Suffering from Insomnia, are we?

Google street view is great, to check out certain things. I usually lookup clients property before attending a meeting with them. No so much as being nosey, but to make sure I can park there when on the job, how secure it is, whether I would need a parking permit, etc. All of this can be discussed in the meeting, rather thank leaving it till last minute and having to dispute it later on.

One of my favourite ex Celtic players was rumored to have worked for the Stasi when he played in East Germany.
