GoPro/SJ4000 Hidden camera fitting location ?

Picked up a cheapie SJ4000 today and looking to fit on my GSA. Primarily for crash/accident recording but I don't really want evidence on a plate if I have a 'spirited ride' etc. So the fitting location needs to somewhere that isn't immediately obvious to traffic officer. I'm not talking James Bond levels of hidden as I'd want to remove after each journey for battery recharge and viewing footage etc

Anyone done this ?

On my R850R, I have mine setup on the front wishbone with an industrial strength suction cup (secured with a cable tie). For the GSA, I guess you would probably need extending arms to protrude the GoPro a bit forward so as to avoid the beak obscuring the view at the top, maybe?

Dogcam bullet R+ is the best for hiding on a GS. GOpro types too big really to hide
 
I read somewhere of a camera where the lens was mounted remotely from the recorder. Thus one had a small easily mounted camera that could be concealed. Maybe someone here knows what I am referring to?
 
I have an SJ4000 and find that the battery is a little short lived, it will work as a dash cam and continuously record but it is better to have it wired for this otherwise youll only get about 40mins coverage.
Good quality picture though
 
Unfortunately it recharges via micro USB....and then wouldnt be waterproof :(

Hmm....maybe this was a false economy then ! In Cornwall at moment and got the 4.5hr journey back on Saturday to home.....looks like I wont be getting much of that footage !
 
Battery life

Anyone used the 1100mAh batteries with the SJ4000 - ordered some from eBay, only a slight bump from supplied 900mAh so I'm not expecting miracles...
 
Get Sygic navigation app for the android phone. Mount it behind the screen using ultimate mobile bits. Upgrade the app for dash cam addon approx 10E. Start the app when out riding. It allows you to view and receive satnav instructions whilst recording. To everybody else it looks like a phone or satnav mounted. You can power the phone from the bike accessory point. Only downside is you have to save the footage which is the last 5 minutes of recording but that don't take a lot of space.
