I have just ridden part of the Gorges du tarn, fantastic roads from Florac to Millau and from Rodez to St Enime.

We stayed in a hotel along the road to Millau and as I was leaving noticed a 3D map on the wall which showed other roads in the area.

My question is have I ridden the best roads and theres not much more to do or I need to get back and explore some more. Is there a good map of the area ?

Thanks

Spent a week there last year, just riding the roads. Still plenty unexplored at the end.
Used the local Michelin map.

You could spend weeks around there exploring the roads & scenery.

the 1:200,000 Michelin maps are great for getting an overview of the area http://travel.michelin.co.uk/france-140-c.asp as you will need more than one sheet.

The southern part of the Cevennes National Park between Meyrueis and Ales is worth a look. To the east you have the Ardeche Gorges and to the west, Rocamadour and Lot Valley. To the north the Auvergne. The central part of France is so often ignored by many, to their loss. I'm going back next June, with a group of friends to stay in the Auvergne.

Did you ride this road. I rode it last week from La Malene.

Did you take the road that follows the river at the bottom of the gorge with the overhanging rock face? Fabulous ride.
