o with all the wires?Got my ultimate ear plugs - what do you do with all the wires?

Got my 'ultimate ear' monitor plugs during the summer. I use them all the time with my MP3 player however when I'm using them with the autocom there's wires everywhere:

The ear plugs have about 0.75m of cable ending in a 3.5mm jack plug.

Autocom then supplied a remote volume control to plug into the earphones (this is about 0.75m long as well).

After this there is the adapter to plug the 3.5mm jack plug into the autocom spider loom which the microphone also plugs into.

All of this results in wires everywhere and a big hassle putting the helmet on and off with plugging and unplugging the wires.

Does anyone have a good solution to all these wires as the earplugs are excellent and I just want to get rid of all these wires!!

Thanks

Andrew

It's a bit of a problem.

My earplug leads are about 22". That's still about 6" too long as I have them plugged into a socket on the side of my helmet (see here).

I only have one lead from my helmet to the Autocom socket that emerges from the front lip of my saddle.

May have come to this late..... but what are these plugs?

I ask a La Missus has a Creative Muvo2 mp3 player and wants to listen on the bike. I'm sure I saw a thread mentioning earplugs with speakers fitted, but the search for "mp3 earplugs" throws up this thread and two others that were useless...

Any help?

I ditched the volume control lead.....decided I didn't need it as the Minidisc I use has a volume control on it already.

(mine is on a remote control lead from the Minidisc...this I tuck into a nylon cable te down thing (m,aplins etc) on the top of my tank bag or on a small flat plate BWM, a tenner) that clamps onto the cross bar on my ADV.)

These cable loops are very handy things..I'm going to put another on the platform thing to tuck the long coily cord from my heated waistcoat under....the advantage is that the loop is open, so getting off the bike the coil wire will just pull out if I forget.

Also, once you've worked out what length of cables you really need, use the smallest cable ties and bundle the excess up together.

Sherringford.......are you seriously saying you've missed the hundreds of threads on Ultimate ear/green leopard type in-ear monitors??

Try a search....there's loads of info.

PS Judge is shaking his head sadly right now ;)

Missed 'em all except the other one I commented on the other day. Unless you are looking for sometihng then you blank all the stuff you aren't interested in.....

But at £140 for earplugs and speakers.... I reckon she'll just have to keep on singing to herself. Too much Man.

I might have a BMW but I don't have the disposable income of David Beckham.....

It is a lot of money, must admit.

If I had to choose though, I'd probably take the moulded plug/monitors over nearly any other mod, inc. Remus 'zorst.

Being able to have top quality music/comms/gps instructions at any speed at any time really is a fantastic thing.

I thought the same, but I ended going for them and well worth it they are. I have the same MP3 player as you - nice machine it is too.

cheers
