Greetings to all, with special thanks to all that answered my original post in the Newbee section over the last couple of weeks.
today I became a very proud Father / Owner of my very own BMW 1200 GSA.
She is a 2012 bike with just under 20K miles in Magenta Red.

Anyway I have a couple of questions, which I think will certainly have been covered before and maybe some kind soul will remember and guide me to the right place.
1, I wish to mount my Zumo 590 in its Touratech lockable mount, I belive there is a connector somewhere near the top of the forks but where is it?

2, Assuming I can find it, what type of connector is it and where do I get its mateing part (I can do the wiring bit.........).

3, I wish to refit from my former bike, a Deneli Sound Bomb horn. This needs the original horn conectors to switch it on then it is fed directly from the battery through a relay to the compressor. Are there any problems tapping into the horn wiring or the wiring in general on this bike.

As I said earlier on, these subjects may have already been covered but please any help would be appreciated

:D

1 it's down by the oil cooler, round 3 pin plug.

2 Nippy Norman's sells the plug with some wire attached. Gust search gps plug.

3 you will be OK using original horn wires to switch a relay.

If you want to power anything extra on this bike your better straight from the battery via fuses. If you want to do a few things then fit an extra fuse box somewhere.

OK Marki thanks for that.
I had a really good look around and there is only 1 connector and that has only 2 wires
Do you or any one else know what physical size and colour the plug should be

Hello Dunblane and welcome :thumb2

I acquired a 2011 TC very recently and found myself in the same predicament as you - if you read the Nippy Normans link Marki posted you will note only 2 of the 3 wires are used and one needs folding away - the link also tells you which is pos and which is neg - the plug will only fit one way onto the connector which you should find on the near side by the fork.

Get to know your 'bike - take the panels off with the correct fitting torx key and get in there! (Golden rule on this plastic stuff - don't force anything or it'll cost you!)

Jim

OK guy's it's off with the panels tomorrow for a good looky see.
Thanks for all advice and guidance, I will return tomorrow with news....................I hope

Brilliant Guy's, sat nav done and works a treat.

I'll post more when I have finished horn and front guard :thumb2
