They all look good from up top ebbo......
But alas its not the same story under the tupperware. Still, the summers fucked so I now have something to do in the garage while its raining

Not as bad as I make it sound. I plan to do a picture by picture of what I'm doing.
1. Plastics/tank off, assess the damage (corrosion, usual stuff)
Fit new battery. Glad I kept the spare one I removed from the police 1200 RT i bought now

.
The battery is knackered. Usual signs, struggles to start, ABS lights flash, then turn it off after 10 mins & the lights go out......
2. Rear frame is quite scabby, already bought one of eblag (35 quid delivered

), sent off to a local powder coaters to be 'done' (50 quid, its a small frame!), about 3 hours to fit (2 of us). Poss renew paralever and swing arm bearings while its off (make use of the parts discount at work !

)
3. Remove front forks/telelever & re-paint.(drill out & re-tap front mudguard screws

)
4. Remove front engine cover/rocker covers & re-paint.
5. De-scab & repaint heads/barrels/cases in situ as best as poss.
Should look a whole lot better after that! The brake hoses will need renewing, but the metal pipes are surprisingly good. Front & rear disc's are in good condition and the clutch was renewed 10k mls ago. The engine, although its done 116k mls, sounds like a japanese sewing machine

....AND, it has one of those carbon fibre fenda-extenda thing's.....

All in all it's not a bad bike, MOT'd till next February and taxed till September. A fair amount of dealer S/H plus a mile of invoices from a Cardiff independent.
I'll keep you all posted.
Steve.
