Interesting. I would advocate something similar in France but self serve. All you need is the Logis website, a bit of imagination and a Navigation App.
Never ridden in Spain so can’t comment but am in France 2-3 times a year and the prices normally come in around €100 for accomodation and around €40-60 for the Logis Top restaurant rating for a 3-4 course menu
Of course not guided… more DIY

France !

but - this place recommended by your very self was just superb for food

Logis Hotel et Restaurant le Relais de la Voie Sacrée

Oooops. Sorry. Missed that… Mods maybe shift my comment to the France section where it belongs. I didnt read the title so my bad

Thanks for pointing that out @JonnyBravo 👍👍👍

Yes, was there end last year. Back again in 2 weeks with the Missus by car and have 2 visits on bike tours planned for this year. Overnight stay including an amazing breakfast - French style of course - and lovely small but modern and cozy rooms was €80. Cant go wrong for that.
If you enjoyed that drop me a lne…. I have loads of other recommendations for France in that category for food especially

I cant recommend this place enough. Lovely little town, parking for bike inside a private locked garage, hotel comfy and modern rooms but the Restaurant is amazing....Only thing you really need to tell them you want a table at the time of booking a room as it gets very full well in advance. Off back in 2 weesk for an over nighter and dinner with the Missus

This is their own website which has a better impression but its also a Logis group hotel with top ´´Table Distinguee´´

this place in Normandy, 10km from the British Normandy Memorial is excellent.
3 set menus from 20 to 40 euros when we stayed a couple of years ago. We tried both on successive nights and were happy with the value for money and quality. House red wine is good too in their own label bottles and coming from Beaujolais.
Gourmand rating, 9.7/10

Village has two bars and a small chateau that has WW2 history. Good, covered off road parking.

Edit: they often show no rooms online but contact them as they likely have rooms held back.

Just stayed here at this Logis hotel.
in Lapoutroie

Food was spectacular -
We went for the 5 courses at 64 euros.
With a selection of 3 local wines for 18 euros.
Really was top drawer stuff.

Hotel is in small village NW of Colmar.
Rooms is big and comfy and they have great parking around the back.
They offered me a garage to put the bike in but I didn’t see any need.
Very friendly, not much English spoken but that just encourages me with my dodgy French !

Straight out into the Route de Cretes this morning
👍

also the Logis ''Frequent Flyer'' programe is excellent. Each time you stay present your membership card which is on the phone app and collect money....yes money, not points...
You can then use your ''money'' to pay for part or all of your next stay.
I normally max out at around EURO 250 - 400 per year which goes a long way to a nice weekend stay with dinner for me and the Missues at our favourite place in Montreuil sur Mer...

Edit on this as we take refuge in a Burger King of all places for the air conditioning and a pee stop.
It’s proper hot here now !

Anyway, the hotel manager showed me when we checked out how much cheaper we could have had the room booking direct instead of through booking.com.
Would have saved 40 euros !!!

Lesson learned there I think 🤦

Yep, find accommodation on Booking then look them up on Google and book direct.

I've arrived at places and they asked me to cancel the Booking.com reservation and they'll beat the price and make a better profit with me directly.

We do ! 😉

A few of these I booked with cancellation in mind because, I thought if the weather was shit, we will change destination accordingly.
As it happens the weather is bit too ☀️☀️☀️!

40 euros was a big difference though.
Never realised it could be that sort of money.

the booking sites are charging 10-25% commission and there is often a delay before the hotel gets the money if you pay up front.

then, as I found with the Logis hotels, you get offers such as half board at good rates going direct. All of my bookings for Sept/Oct going direct have late cancellation
