Has anyone experienced the difference, if any, between aftermarket headers and modified standard headers? Before my current career I was a sheet metal fabricator and welder (tin basher!) for many years so would be able to decat my original headers easy enough and save myself a load of cash, but would the result be as good as something like the GPR headers (£310) that could be sold on later and I would be able to return my bike to standard?

Cheers.

Lesson in the past I have learned is that messing around with your original headers and pipes is fine if you intend to keep your bike for life, but if MOT inspections get more stricter as eventually they will, you will need some original headers so keep your originals safe, if you intend to change later you have 2 solutions, 1 is the GPR headers 2 is get a set of used headers on the forum here or fleabay to mess around with, because in the end it will always cost you money, good thing you can decat yourself a used set of headers, but make sure you get remapped.

Yeah I've seen those headers, and there isn't anywhere near enough savings there over a new set of GPS headers.. I think I know the answer to my question but just thought I'd as you knowledgeable folks.. Still don't know if there would be any difference in the 2 options..

Well I am sure you can get a decent set of used headers on fleabay to mess around with, thats what I do, and if you mess up it is not as costly as getting a new set of headers again.

I'd recommend Mivv over GPR. I had welds fail on a GPR header before. My Mivv headers have around 30k miles on them.
