Just a word of warning, a friend of mine has had his car broken in to. Nothing was taken because he had his GPS in his pocket, but his GPS mount was stuck on the windscreen, and that’s what lured them in

Don't let it hapen to you :rob

I've heard that those looking to "relieve" car owners of mobile electronics, gps, phones etc look for the tell tale windscreen mount marks left by the suction type. Personally I use the front seat or Garmin,s bean bag.

Sounds quite likely but is there any actual evidence of that reasoning on the part of the robbers?

The scrotes left a note complaining the GPS wasn’t under the seats.

But seriously, Its been documented on TV, stealing GPS’s is the replacement ‘must steal’ item replacing radios that are now difficult to remove and often coded to the car.

And don’t leave the mark on the screen left by the sucker mount ether, that’s tipped them off to rich pickings too .

Satellite Navigation Thefts

North Yorkshire Police have advised us to be aware of the current high levels of Satellite Navigation System thefts from unattended vehicles in residential streets and car parks across the York and Selby areas.
North Yorkshire Police advise that the system and cradle should be removed from the vehicle when left unattended for any period of time at all, as the thefts are happening throughout the day and night.

So it must be true

Happened to me!!

It happened to me... parked by a beach in Spain, suction cup mount left in window, stupidly left Quest in glove box.... :nono came back to smashed door lock and no GPS... :spitfire

Lessons learnt! :clap

I've replaced with the mega cheap 2610 and now use the bean bag mount that leaves no indication that sat nav has been used!!! :clap

Will never make that mistake again!
