Hi All

I am looking for the best GPS to use for Trail/Off Road riding.

I have a Garmin Zumo 550, which is fine for the road work, but lacking for off road.

I am thinking of the Memory-Map Adventurer 3500, as it uses Memory Map (to which I already subscribe) and is waterproof.

Has anyone used one of these? What is the included bike mount like?

Should I be considering any others?

Many thanks in anticipation

Best regards

Garmin Oregon with RAM mount (or TT if you must).

  • OS maps
  • On-road routeable
  • Waterproof
  • Can be used with other dual-layer rastor maps

Thanks........and sorry!

Thanks for the info Greg.

Had another look at the various options including the Oregon, but decided to go for the Memory-Map Adventurer 3500 instead.

One reason was that I already have Memory-Maps 1:25000 of some of the places I ride and the other was I thought the Oregon had a small screen, when compared to the MM 3500.

I have fitted it temporarily to my KTM, for a weekend trail riding sortie, and found just the top of the 'bicycle' mount (all manufacturers should make that blatantly clear!) zipped tied to the KTM rubber steering stem protector fairly firm, but with just enough give to soak up the vibes.

I will report back with any thoughts, good or bad, later.

Thanks again for your input.

Best regards
