Hi
Can any one suggest a mount for the SP3.I have bar raisers and looking at the touratech mount it seems to block most of the clocks and warning lights.Has any one seen the SP3 mounted above the clocks?
Graham

Thanks for the tip Mark,
Ive looked at the ram mount today,it seems very flexible, have you got yours on the cross bar or somewhere else?

Or you could do something like this...

A few more pics are on my little website (click below).

Thank's for the pic's,
My pc died on tuesday but all seems ok now.
I like the position of your mount Michel have you any pic's with the SP3 removed to give me an idea where and how you fixed it?
the ram mount still looks like it puts the unit in front of the clocks, but the ram looks more versatile, now more confused, back to the garage to have a play with the idea's
THANK'S
Graham

I have the same arrangment as Michel and it really works for me. I need glasses to read but with the SP mounted above the clocks I can read it no probs. It has the added advantage of being protected from the elements by the screen.
I thought about a locking mount but a mate who has one reckons they`re crap and would`nt protect the GPS for more than a few seconds.

Thanks for all the replies chaps I think I am sold on the set up that Den has, next step, buy the mount and then off with the screen and front cover to look for the best mounting point inside.
Thanxs again

Den,

I like your setup as you are able to see all of the instruments.

Which mount are you using and where have you got it attached?

If you have more pictures showing the attachment they would be appreciated.

TIA

Frank

2 strips of aluminium, cold bent to fit. screwed with big self tappers to plastic moulding. Youve got to cut a bit out the instrument surround to sandwich the strips between the inner screen thingy and the instrument surround. Solid as a rock, but the whole console shakes over bumps. I think it shakes normally, but with the gps on you notice it more. tourtech gps mount.

I never use batteries in my SP but if I did it would double the weight and it would bounce around like a good `un.

Associated question here...the Touratech locking mount for the SPIII looks nice.....well, ok, it looks crap and ugly and all metally and ugly and functional so it looks nice on a GS:D but is there any point in spending 80 plus quid on a mount when the bracket is mounted on an ally tube that a junior hacksaw would sever in a matter of seconds??

Or do they supply tuffer kit to compensate???

Any one who thinks that anything left, locked or not on your pride and joy these days will be there when you get back with your brew, needs to be locked away,It's sad that you even neen to lock your oil filler .The only thing going for the GS in my opinion is the weight and size, in respect of it getting nicked.
But I know it won't stop it going!SAD :(
