Good evening,
Ive recently purchased a 1999 1100, I have attached a Quad lock to the bars in the centre where between the clamps.

However with the brace bar on the 1100 bars it cuts off some of my screen.
Is there any other mounts/ places people have mounted thier GPS mounts or phones ?.
If possible pictures would be most helpful.

Thanks,
Anthony5900.

mount it well to the left ,
you are going to use your left hand to play with it .

and don't tell me you won't touch it on the move !

For ages now I have found the easiest, cheapest and most solid way to mount a gps (never use my phone) is a RAM ball stud to replace one of the handlebar clamp bolts. Add a RAM arm of the appropriate length (I go short) and add an AMPS mount with ram ball on your device and you have solid vibe free mount that you can position for right hand or left hand use and is easily adjustable too, although don’t try that when riding. Ok, it’s not line of sight, but it’s cheap quick easy, and can potentially go from bike to bike.

You could also make your own bracket quite easily - designing it to suit whatever you want to attach to it - GPS mount, Quadlock etc.

Cheers ......... Grizzly

I have a Migsel mount on my 1150 and it’s great, but has 2 minor issues. One is that it tends to be quite bouncy over bad surfaces and the other is that it’s quite a reach to the screen.

I’ve now got a Chigee mounted on the left of the handlebars and the phone stays in my pocket.

I have a Motoradd Concepts (remember him?) mount on my 1150 and it is very good. The main difference from the Migsel is that it hasn't got the Ram ball but a flat mounting plate.

Like you Paul, I have an Aocci thing mirroring my phone too.

She's just about run in now @Grizzly :) Kind regards to you and your good lady wife.
Cheers Aiden, likewise to you and Mandy.
The pics of the bike are old ones - she's now on 218,000 miles and still runs like at 20K - but she's semi-retired now and I use an XT1200ZE Super Tenere for the big trips.

Cheers......................Grizzly
