I just got an MDA Compact mobile phone pocket pc thingy, and I'm getting all excited cos I've just found out that you can get GPS systems for it. The best one seems to be CoPilot live Pocket PC5.

Anyone got any experience of using this software on the MDA Compact?

CoPilot 5 combines the best features of CoPilot 4 with nice 3-D graphics like Tom Tom 3.

I have both CoPilot 4 (2-D mapping) and Tom Tom 3 and preferTom Tom. Both work very well, but you can use Checkpoint with Tom Tom for speed camera warnings.

I haven't used CoPilot, but do have TomTom Mobile on my SPV smartphone. It works v.well if you want to get to a specific address. Nice features, easy to use etc. Not too good if you want to go offroad as it doesn't do track logging and doesn't hold a zoomed-out view either (it keeps auto-zooming in to close detail).

You'll need a bluetooth GPS receiver for it as well. If you buy TomTom (you'll need to get the pocket PC version not the mobile version) you should get a GPS receiver with it. The best on the market is the Leadtek unit which TomTom rebrand as their own.

I wrote up a thread thingy about it here

Also, for all sorts of intelligence on your new gadget, have a look here.
