GPS Phone mount cradle

Ok folks, looking for some advice please.

I am getting a 1300GS shortly and it has the new GPS phone mount cradle that does NOT have the physical key to lock but an electronic lock.

Does this work with the 6/7” CarPlay mirroring devices including the wonder wheel thingy?

If it does do I need to get any additional hardware to fit?

I have researched loads of threads but cannot find a definitive answer.

Currently I have a Carpuride W702 as coming from a Yamaha but realise this will not work with the wonder wheel.

Are there any recommendations for a good unit to replace this? I do like the bigger screen so 5” ones are out but would consider a 6” screen but preferably a 7” would be ideal.

Yes, the BMW specific ones will mount and lock with the new electric lock. Super simple.

TBH i just use the phone cradle and my mobile with the BMW app.

I believe all these aftermarket units are basically just mirroring the phone anyway and plus the phone is then being used but not charged.

Thanks, and they are primarily just mirroring the phone.
I originally just used my phone but found the display too small to read properly. For me it is an easy way to combat that albeit an expensive solution. I plan on storing the phone in the tank cubby and charging there, similar (and safer) to my previous setup which had my mobile on a Quad lock mount and charger on the handlebar.
