Visited GPS Warehose today and bought a Quest.

I've got to say I was impressed.

They evaluated what I wanted, gave me the options (even though I'd done my homework), and then suggested that I speak to one of their guys in order to work out the best mount options for the bike. Needless to say it was RAMMAN. I didn't know till he introduced himself - but I must congratulate them on their good service, even though they were busy.

Top marks, Brilliant advice and service skills. Oh and the product seems to be quite good too.

I've got to say I was impressed.

What were you riding? I was on the Yellow 12GS just before lunch.

Likewise, I had an excellent chat with RAM-Man/Steve (hiya!) and had a trip into the inner sanctum of RAM parts, where I got to play with lots of combinations of bits and pieces and find stuff that would do what I wanted.

The RAM parts, after extensive analysis at home, certainly feel fit for putpose and like they will take a fair hammering.

My only faintest niggle is that a couple of the hard metal parts have metal flare/flash on them from the casting process, which I would rather the manufacturer had cleaned-up prior to painting. It's a moment's work with a rasp to smooth them, but then I have to touch up the paint.

But overall: excellent service, excellent advice, lovely chat, bit tricky to find (look for the words "LION CENTRE" written on a large brick building) and I bought a RAM camera mount, a RAM GPS mount, a couple of double-end socket thingies in different lengths, several ball-mounts, etc. Now to get it all fitted.

I didn't buy the cup-holder, but was told that Judge (iirc?) had been considering one.

I did suggest that they come-up with a cigar holder and ashtray for weekend-Harley-riding business types, of whom I know a couple. It'd be a stocking-filler.

I was there late on in the day, 4:00-4:30 ish, and I was driving a silver volvo estate. Which probably explains why I wasn't trusted to go into the inner sanctum

Seriously ram-man sorted my queries very quickly, and there was no need to play with combinations.

You're right - they are tucked a little out of the way, but they didn't take too long to find.

The quality of the RAM hardware, is a little rough around the edges in places, but not something I would complain about. However it is certainly substantial, and feels like it will do the job without any problem.

As for the earlier pictures, where is the adapter for the M3 / M4 / M25. i.e. the flamethrower & rocket launcher. Just to sort out those damned volvo drivers.

I'm looking forward to the arrival of the powered RAM-QUEST adapter, to make life a little simpler for my French Trip in June.

Thanks for the 'words', which I shall also pass on to the showroom team at GPSW. I know Mark and SteveW were pushed and RAM-man was being 'tested' - but everyone got sorted, what a patient lot you are !.

Friday at GPSW was like biker's outing - bl**dy manic, I think the final count was 12 bikers, some GS'ers, Alec M, Thauma, Judge and others.

The holster mount has little UK potential, I guess it has a use elsewhere - Oz & SA, for example.
The drink holder is popoular so bikers can keep their 'cola' handy.
As for the 'sweetie' holder, I shall mention by name any forum member who orders it !.
