Probably an area of Germany not visited so very often by Brits.

This suggested route comes from the latest edition of Alpentourer magazine (2/2023) which, if nothing else, evidences that the magazine is not dedicated to hooning around the Alps exclusively. In sharing it, I’d hope that it might encourage people to look at different places to go.

Download the route from the magazine’s website as usual, it’s free.

Using no more than my nonexistent German, I Googled: Thuringia motorrad touren to see what popped up. This is just a short sample:

Most European language websites translate OK using no more than the built in translation tools. Even leaving then in German will, with a bit of imagination, allow the viewer to see what the site is probably going on about.

Who knows, your two minutes in a Google search’n’surf might find you here:

https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showt...here-different-Vogtland-Thuringia-Frankenwald

It’s all enough to tell anyone that it’s probably a great area to ride a motorcycle in and that the chances are the hoteliers and cafes will be pleased to see you.

Just looking at this map might lead you to spot the town of Kassel:

Which might bring you to:

https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showt...cycle-Road-Hesse’-Kassel-Frankfurt-Wiesbaden…

Which might give you the idea to join some of the suggestions together.

It’s fun (of sorts) and it’s free.

Thanks there's some interesting routes there, I've just started using Kurviger at your recommendation and I've got to say how much easier it is to use compare to B/camp. One thing I have found useful is the links on the maps to local circular routes.

Thank you.

Kurviger is certainly good for its ability to create routes, especially in the paid for ‘Pro’ version. But it does sometimes put in some silly little deviations, Judy to satisfy the algorithm’s opinion as to what a curvy route should look like.
