Everywhere is dead out here.
Super weather, sweeping, empty roads in vast landscapes and very rapid progress across La Belle France. Delightful.

Lovely pics dude! Riding your own trip, on your own terms, what not to like.
Am enjoying it. I did a short trip in Florida recently but only a day. Last time I did a big solo one was when I was working in Holland and did a few days down to Limburg and into Germany.
Am enjoying being solo. Much higher speeds, especially on those long straights in the Parc de Lorraine!
Be nice to go for dinner with company tonight though.
Hot in Haguenau. 32 degrees.

Nice dinner last night. Swordfish carpaccio of sorts and a faux fillet de boeuf. I was delighted to notice where my knife was from. And Meteor beer is lovely.
Another lovely morning here. I’ve shortened my ride today as I’m a little knackered. It’s now only 215km but 90% of it is winding mountain roads. Colmar is the destination.

Yes, very nice weather although it did go as high as 32 yesterday.
Speaking of yesterday, I visited my first German war graveyard. A tough place to be. Mass graves. Black crosses (as opposed to white ones in the allied graveyards). I was stood on a patch of ground smaller than a football pitch and there were the bodies of 11,148 men under me. Sobering.
A mass grave here. All these poor souls in the same hole, a space no bigger than your kitchen.

Lovely!! I’m a bit further West than you but same. Riding from The Hague to Gerolstein. Vulkan Eifel. It hit 36 degrees just over the border with Germany and there are a lot of bikes out and about

Just landed at Hotel des Ardennes on Verviers. It's hmmm, a bit old but has a charm about it and the lady of the house, Madam Maggi is a stern old woman with a mischievous sense of humour and her home cooking is lovely..A lovely run from Adenau until we got south of St.Vith when it turned to shite with the extreme heat which really became unbearable. Not an enjoyable afternoon. Been in several countries over here and not one fekkin chip van anywhere.
