In the light of the other post here is our bigger France tour planned for beginning of September. Same goes for the previous post, will update on hotels and with some photos after the event. Routes and lodging are listed below for anyone that's interested also in planning something.
Hotels are always chosen for their simplicity but comfort and because we like our grub, quality of the food. To some the costs might be a bit extravagant, and if so you can always look for something cheaper but this is part of our holiday experience, riding, nice cozy room and good food and drink at the end of the day

Day 1 - Rotterdam to Vienne le Chateau. 400 km. Overnight stay is at the Tulipier. We stayed here on the first day of our tour last year and it was great. Good food, comformatble rooms and an indoor heated pool which was nice after a long day riding.

Day 2 - Vienne le Chateau to Lagesse. 337 km. Overnight stay at the Hotel aux Maisons. This is one of the top end restaurants so exepcted quality will be fine diing french style.

Day 3 - Lagesse to Chinon. 364 km. Overnight in the wine town of Chinon on the Loire river. Overnight is in the town itself at the Hotel Boule d'Or.

Day 4 - Chinon to Noyal Muzillac. 301 km. Overnight stay at the Manoir de Bodrevan.

Day 5 - Noyal Muzillac to Kasatel Ac'h. 336 km. Right on the coast in Bretagne. Hotel over night is at the Hotel le Castel Ac'h

Day 6 - Kastel Ac'h to La Hambaye. 365 km. Overnight stay is at the Auberge de L'Abbaye D'Ambaye

Day 7 - La Hambaye to Neufchatel en Bray. 288 km. Overnight in the town itself at the Hotel Les Airelles.

Day 8 - Neufchatel en Bray to La Motte au Bois. 241km. Overnight stay at the Auberge de la Forest

Day 9 - La Motte to Rotterdam. 290 km.

Slight modification to these routes and also some of the lodgings simply because some were closed on the days we wanted to stop by. Routes very much the same as they were but the hotels have changed. I actually had a look and some were not given very good ratings so I adjusted. Again all of them are taken from the Logis hotel website and we prefer the nice food so have chosen only the ´´blue´´ coding or higher. Looking forward to it later this year. If anyone wants the adjusted routes to match drop me a line. Full write up after we have done it.
In order of travel here they are:
Le Cheval Rouge in St Menehould
Hotel Aux Maisons, Maisons les Chaource
Hotel le Cheval Blanc, Blere
Manoir de Bodrevan, Noyal Muzillac
Hotel le Castel Ac´h, Plouguerneau
Hotel de la Croix dÓr, Avranches
Hotel les Airelles, Neufchatel en Bray
Hostellerie St Louis, Bollezeele

A bit of a culinary tour I guess. :)

Looks great . Bit of a shame you’re riding past the pink granite coast without staying anywhere as some cracking places along there. But I guess it wouldn’t fit with daily mileage.

Stayed at Les Airelles in Neufchâtel a few times . Great place .

do tell more, I am not familiar with the pink Granite coast and am always looking for an excuse to build a route and book a hotel....and eventually ride the route as well. :ROFLMAO:

Some stunning places such as Ploumanach

That big brick building is the Hotel Castel Beausite.

Lovely place but been tarted up and not cheap these days like it was twenty years back when a room was €60 !

And Plage de Trestignel

So many beaches and coves all along there .

Further along is another favourite spot at Saint Briac sur Mer

Looks interesting, but I doubt I will ever get there. 5 hours NNW of me and not on the way to anywhere and I much prefer south, east and NE :thumb2

Why has it got to be on the way to anywhere ? The area is a destination you can spend days exploring. You could route via the Loire on the way .

To be honest, its not my favourite part of France. Nor is the part I'm living in now :D
I've been to Switzerland (Suisse Normande) a few times and that was nice, but its always east that calls.

Ok . But you said you doubted you’d ever get there so assumed you’ve never been , but I guess you must have if you’ve decided it’s not your favourite part of France .

Looking generally in this area I found a few more rather nice looking hotels. There are loads on the Logis site but I have picked out those with rather nice looking restaurants.

Hotel du Chateau, Combourg
Auberge de la Hardouinais, St Launeuc.
Hotel Aigue Marine, Treguier
Auberge St Thegonnec, St Thegonnec
Hotel les Voyageurs, St Renan
Chateau de Sable, Porspoder
Hotel du Parc, Ploumanach

these are just a few of the better restaurant's and by no means have I managed to list all the ´´blue´´ codes and above. If anyone can show me how to filter on colour code on the Logis Website let me know as I haven't managed to figure it out.
There are a couple listed that have eye watering menu´s not only in how they look but the costs as well!! Its definitely not an Ibis and Mac listing. :ROFLMAO:

My aim its to kind of copy this website set up or at least list up ´´blue´´ coded restaurants and above in specific areas at first.

The area stands in its own right as one worth visiting. Michelin produces a dedicated Green Guide to it. As to the north east of France, umpteen bods on this site swear it’s crap and can’t wait to hoon through it. They are wrong of course.

I figured it out. Now I can select the colour codes and the map to see where they all are. Nice!
From the Logis home landing page, scroll down to the title ´´Select your experience´´. Select either the Hospitality or Restaurant button, Then chose which ´´colour´´ you wish to look for and then hit the ´´Discover´´ button.
This opens a new page and you simply hit the botton ´´Show Map´´ and you can then see where they are on the Map.

Not as quaint as Du Parc but their restaurant Le Coste Mor has great food but an even better view as it overlooks the beach
