I'd like to buy a grease gun with the required fitting types for my 2V bikes , but also one I could maybe use on later GS1150 and F650 bikes as well.
Any recommendations ?

swinging arm bearings pack them out with grease
not on a paralever! The paralever driveshaft breaths through the hollow holes in the swinging arm pivots. The bearings are sealed for life. What are you going to grease on a paralever with a grease gun?
Please don't say the swinging arm bearings..
If you have a twin shock that needs the bearings greasing then motobins sell an adapter to fit any grease gun - Part number 99810

Newbie question,
So should I remove the grease that someone unknown has packed into said holes behind the plastic covers on my recently acquired 93 R80GS ?
Wanner 315, pretty much an industry standard back in its day. So well made you should easily find a good one at the car boot or eBayI'd like to buy a grease gun with the required fitting types for my 2V bikes , but also one I could maybe use on later GS1150 and F650 bikes as well.

Filling a Wanner. Buy a tin of lithium grease, under the lid should be a plate with a hole in it, yes? Good. Pull back and latch the chain on the grease gun. Unscrew the grease cylinder from the gun, invert the grease gun cylinder and press down firmly on the plate with the hole in it. Grease should transfer from the tin to the grease gun cylinder filling it with no air incursion (which would be a pain in the arse). Screw cylinder back onto the gun, release chain and store it back into the cylinder. Bleed air from gun by releasing the two bleed valves and pumping lever, Your ready to go.
BTW, if the gun stops working, bleed the two screws again, air will likely pop out.
