I’m just in the garage, greasing my linkage as I read in the forum it can help smooth out the shift and I’m wondering if the ball joints come open to get lube in.
Anyone know?

The bushings where the gear change spindle passes through the frame can bind up with road crap, maybe give that a good clean out and regrease whilst you are at it.

The wire clip is not called a 'ping-fuckit' for nothing :blast

This is essential as the ,main cause is this pivot getting full of crap, take it off clean and grease it. I know 'cos I found out by doing it on 1150 this bolt the lever pivots on was put on with locktite (as from the factory) so beware.

Don't forget the little foam washers that keep the crap out of the linkage ball joints. Part number er 35417674080

That’s very handy thanks. They had perished and fell apart as soon as I touched them.
Is there a good place for bits and bobs parts or do most people just use the main dealers?

Haha! Yep, I can see that. Fortunately they were so bogged down in crud that they plopped rather that pinged but I’ll watch ‘em when I whip them off again to fit the washers
