I had an Autocom Super Pro Automatic fitted today at Autocom HQ Warwick today.

Brilliant bit of kit, can now talk to my mates while out for a ride, answer the phone, listen to the sat nav, play music and chat to the pillion.

Many thanks to GSRich and his brother Paul for all their help and expert fitting.:thumb

Aye they're good guys. I once rang them from Germany when we were having comms problems within our group. I'm sure they had a host of equally important things to do but they talked me through a full 're-set' of mine, which I then applied to all the others. Problem sorted. We're still using the steam driven ProM1 and by and large, it's still doing it's job:thumb2

Assuming it was all fitted as one new installation - how much did that set you back?

Cheers,

Neil.

They're doing or were doing a half price offer (so be quick) at the moment, I already had a 550 Zumo and bought a Kenwood walkie talkie seperately 'cos it was cheaper. Including installation, cost just over £300:thumb:thumb

Kenwood or Midland

Thinking of going down this route too. Do all walkie talkies talk to all other walkie talkies or do you have to buy the same make? A mate of mine has an Autocom with Kenwood but I might go for a Midland. Any thoughts? Also, while I am at it, I spent large sums on some supposedly excellent speakers for my Nolan N103 (not Nolan's own speakers) Any views on the quality, musicwise of the Autocoms?

Had Autocom on the last bike, the only thing i needed was a boostaroo

a nifty little amp to boost the volume a bit, and the AA batteries lasted for an entire 10 day european trip :)- Once that was in place the quality of the music with the Autocom is great up to 80+ :thumb Obviously the faster you go you lose some of the volume but it doesn't ruin the ride . I like to wear foam earplugs at all times, and the boostaroo bumps the volume to compensate :rob

New bike- decided to get Scala Rider bluetooth headsets. Lasted 2 weeks- sound quality nowhere near as good as Autocom, so now have another Autocom kit installed :thumb

The Kenwood would talk to the Midland with no problems its all down to getting the correct channels set up. Normally the Kenwood is set to channel 1, with the Midland set to channel 1 subtone 10.

As for the speakers all depending on which system you go for I've listened to music well deep into the triple figures and also the same with speech between the rider and pillion. If boostaroo's are normally needed this points the fingers at speaker positioning as I've never had any problems with music with using my Roof and Arai helmets.
